Dear NY Getaway:
I'm writing to say how pleased I was--and that's an understatement--with
every part of my stay at your apartment. Let me address its attributes
in detail:
i) The price: As a frequent business visitor to NYC, I've stayed
in various hotels around Midtown. Your price is cheaper than any
rate I've had before, even with a business/group discount. In fact,
my business colleagues stayed at the Westin Hotel 6 blocks away
and my stay over 20 nights was almost
$2,000 less than their rate for the same period
ii) The accommodations : Seems like this is a no-brainer. Why would
any one choose a small hotel room with only a bed and a chair over
a full, 1-bedroom apartment with a real kitchen, living room, and
desk? The apartment was comfortable, with plenty of space for both
my personal and business needs. I
was able to hook up my computer to your dsl line thus letting me
do a lot of work from the apartment. I had breakfast every day while
I was there, thus further saving my business a significant amount
of money on meals. The apartment was stocked with everything one
needed, whether for a long stay or a short one--plenty of clean
linen, kitchen tools, and other little things that made it seem
like home. The building personnel were courteous and helpful. And
after a long stay it was so convenient to be able to do
laundry right there in the building. Did I mention the 2 TV's and
dvd players?
iii) The neighborhood: What could be better than staying 5 minutes
from Times Square and all major theaters? The apartment was no more
than 1 and one-half blocks from any subway I needed to take. The
E/C stop 1/2 block away was incredibly convenient.
The area, known as Clinton (previously known as Hells Kitchen)
offered any traveler every thing they could want in terms of restaurants,
shopping, and night life. As in many neighborhoods in NYC, the array
of moderately priced restaurants of all kinds of food was astonishing.
Italian, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Brazilian, Middle Eastern, Asian
fusion, sushi, Vietnamese, Greek, American, and continental restaurants,
to name a few, were all within 4 blocks of the apartment, no matter
which direction you walked.
Being near the theater district, many restaurants are open until
1 am and offer delicious pre fixe menus. And I was no more than
4 blocks away from the 2 theaters I attended for outstanding Broadway
shows ("Wicked" and "Moving Out." With a Rite
Aid on the corner and supermarkets no more than 2 blocks in either
direction, I couldn't have stayed in a more convenient location.
If any guest has time, they should take a walk between 9th and 10th
Avenues between 44th and 50th Streets and just enjoy the unexpected
pleasures--a cooperative garden; funky antique and jewelry shops;
quiet restaurants with patios--that one can only discover on foot
in NYC. Again, I can't say enough good things about the apartment
and the location.
No detail in making it a comfortable place was overlooked. I look
forward to my next trip to NYC and staying again at your apartment
Sincerely,
D.B.
